Golden Visa means residence

A second passport is issued after a second nationality. A Golden Visa is a residence permit (or equivalent) issued after a qualifying investment or contribution. Caribbean CBI real estate is not a Golden Visa

Where a citizenship-by-investment unit publishes a developer or private real-estate floor, the output after diligence is nationality — if the application is approved. Common questions

Is a Golden Visa a second passport?

No. A Golden Visa / residency-by-investment permit is residence. A second passport requires a second nationality. Some host states later allow naturalization after years of residence, language, and character tests; some do not. Confirm the citizenship field on the programme record.

Can I buy property and get citizenship?

Only where a citizenship-by-investment statute lists a qualifying real-estate route — that is CBI, not a Golden Visa. Caribbean CBI real-estate floors sit above donation floors and add holding-period and resale risk. A Golden Visa property purchase, where it still exists, is residence.

Does Portugal still have a Golden Visa property route?

No for new applications. pass2port seed records Law 56/2023 (Mais Habitação) as removing the real-estate Golden Visa route in 2023 and preserving a CMVM-regulated fund route. Confirm on AIMA before acting.

Is Greece still a real-estate Golden Visa?
