Acquisition of a second nationality can trigger loss of the first, a reporting duty, a military-service consequence, or nothing at all — depending on the home statute as it stands on the day you act. Confirmation of a line is still a second nationality
If a descent line holds, you are usually asking a second state to recognise nationality you already hold or to restore it — not to “buy” a passport. Common questions
Does every country allow dual citizenship?
No. Some states require you to give up the first nationality when you acquire another. Some tolerate dual nationality. Some distinguish between birthright dual nationality and later naturalization. pass2port does not decide your case.
If a CBI country allows dual citizenship, am I safe?
Only one half of the pair. The host state may permit dual nationality while your home state does not. India, China, and Indonesia are recorded in pass2port seed data as not allowing dual citizenship; several CBI hosts are recorded as allowing it. Both records can be true at once.
Is an Overseas Citizen card dual citizenship?
No. Statuses such as India’s Overseas Citizen of India are not a second Indian citizenship. They are a separate legal category. Do not treat them as a passport.
